Students will have a successful year if they enter with the following:

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
No talking or getting out of one's chair during instruction
Raise hand to ask a question
Three marks in a day or five in one week constitutes a detention
Planner - all assignments are to be written in assignment notebook daily
Protractor, compass, and ruler - keep at home for homework. I will let you know when they need to come to class.
GRADING CRITERIA: To receive full credit for each assignment, the following must be completed:
Complete all assignments on time and completely
Proper Heading - Name, Date, Period
Show all work in correct format, including all steps - No credit will be earned for the answer only, without SHOWING THE WORK (except for mental math)
Circle final answer
All work is completed in pencil
HOMEWORK: Homework is given every day that class meets and is due at the beginning of class, the following math period. One homework assignment per week will be handed in at random and graded for a homework grade. Any incomplete homework will be a ). Therefore, it is important that you complete all homework (all assigned problems). As a student, you should never leave class without a full understanding of the math concept(s) that were taught. Homework will be graded in class every class period so that students can ask questions.
**If your child plays sports and must leave early, they are required to turn in any homework or projects prior to leaving for these events or their work is considered late.
ZAPD (Zero Assignment Past Due): We do not accept zeros on late assignments. Students with incomplete/late assignments will serve lunch detention(s) until work is complete. The student will continue to have a lunch detention until the work has been turned in to the appropriate teacher.

Please call the attendance line if your child will be absent. All assignments will be posted on this website. Unexcused absent/late work will be accepted at the teacher's discretion, which also includes makeup tests and quizzes.
If work was due the day of the absence, it is due the day the student returns to school.
Late Work Work is considered late if it is not present at the beginning of a class period. The following criteria is the percent in which the grading begins.
1 day 75% of original grade minus missed percentage
2 days 50% of original grade minus missed percentage
For instance, if a homework assignment is one day late and the student misses 25%, the grade will be 50%

Quizzes/Investigations/ Projects: 25%
Tests/Projects: 40%
Semester Final: 15%
*Homework, Quizzes, Tests, and Interactive Notebook equal 85% of the semester grade. Semester Final makes up 15% of your child's semester grade. **No extra credit will be given ***If your child is in an accelerated math class, the following criteria should be met in order to continue on in the accelerated math.
